This movie had potential to be good but ended up being the worst of slow burns. The payoff was not great and could have been made better if revealed earlier and developed a bit more. This movie is recommended from time to time in horror groups but as a horror fan, I simply cannot recommend this. I watched it just to say I watched it but this is time i will not get back.

Lake Mungo is a very unconvential horror movie that masterfully creates tension through dialogue and cinematography that culminates in an unforgettable scene towards the last five minutes. Although it requires a patient viewer, this movie definitely deviates from movies of the same genre and should be watched by any individual who appreciates unsettling story-telling.

I think this is closer to being a crime mystery with slight paranormal undertones. The delivery of the interviews in general felt more like emotionally bland personal videos quite like some found on YouTube. This, unfortunately, leant the filming to have almost non-existent suspense.
