Sixteen-year-old Alice drowns while swimming in the local dam. When her body is recovered and a verdict of accidental death returned, her grieving family buries her. The family then experiences a series of strange and inexplicable events centered in and around their home. A psychic helps hem discover that Alice led a secret, double life. Clues lead the family to Lake Mungo where Alice's secret past emerges.

I have watched Lake Mungo many times. The acting makes you question whether it is fact or fiction - you begin to believe this is a real family telling the truth. The score is brilliant, eerily influencing your responses. Script and story so well done. Photography and filmography skilled and scenes well directed. It is one of the few genuinely hair raising, eerie and engaging horror/mystery films I've ever seen. There is simply not a misstep in the whole production. Highly recommend.

I love horror, I love Australian films. This is the best I've seen come out of our country. Played so real I thought it was a documentary. Blink and you'll miss the "reveal" which is the creepiest I've seen yet. This film is perfect.

Scared me silly. Probably the most genuinely terrifying film I have ever watched and I've seen a lot. But none have ever shaken me before like this one did.
