About this movie

In the isolated depths of rural Iceland, a childless couple, Maria and Ingvar, make an alarming discovery one day in their sheep barn: a newborn unlike anything they've seen before. They decide to raise the girl, Ada, as their own, but sinister forces - including one very pissed-off ewe - seem determined to return Ada to the wilderness that birthed her. The masterful and terrifying debut feature from director Valdimar Jóhannsson, Lamb excavates primal fears - of parenting, loss, and the vast and merciless wild - in a dark and unnatural folktale for the ages.

Disappointed. A film with a strong concept along with the beautifully desolate location of rural Iceland has failed in terms of basic storytelling. Almost every detail introduced in the film goes nowhere. Not a character arc in sight along with useless characters which do not contribute to the "plot" or theme. Missing an entire third act after a mindblowingly ridiculous climax no doubt included for shock value. Think "sheep pecs". Wouldn't recommend this even as a gag- feed the DVD to your dog.

So boring. Trailer looked nice and creepy but nothing ever happens in the movie. I was hooked all the way through thinking the good parts were about to come up, but no. The most interesting part is the last 5 minutes, and it's not that great either.

An Icelandic slow burner with some horror elements and lots of suspense. If watched in it's entirety, it offers a feeling of dread throughout and a truly unexpected story. Try not to watch the trailer beforehand as it will add to the experience.
