In 2003, thirty years after they served together in the Vietnam War, former Navy Corps medic Larry "Doc" Shepherd reunites with former marines Sal Nealon and Reverend Richard Mueller on a different type of mission: burying Doc’s son, a young marine killed in the Iraq War. Doc decides to forgo burial at Arlington National Cemetery and, with the help of his old buddies, takes the casket on a bittersweet trip up the East Coast to his home in suburban New Hampshire. Along the way, Doc, Sal, and Mueller reminisce and come to terms with shared memories of the war that continues to shape their lives. Based on the novel by Darryl Ponicsan.

It is offensive yes. But it makes you feel like your going on a good ole American vacation again, in a sense doing it for your someone you lost I'm thinking maybe. It is one of the most important films of 17, emotions, grief, loss, the music, even in the trail, it all strikes a historical cord. Even the Gospel teachings in it are great.

It made me think about how much people go through in the military, I was in for 6 years active duty. Twenty seven months was during the Vietnam War. People you knew died. I enlisted, I was not drafted. I was against my 2 sons going into the military. One couldn't go and the other I talked out of it.

I don't know what is wrong with this movie. I rented it on my vizio smart TV, when I try to play it about 10 seconds I to the opening it starts buffering and then errors out. I've tried it at leastnot5 times with the same result. I've never had this problem before with any other movie I've purchased/rented.
