A legendary late-night talk show host’s world is turned upside down when she hires her only female staff writer. Originally intended to smooth over diversity concerns, her decision has unexpectedly hilarious consequences as two women separated by culture and generation are united by their love of a biting punchline.

Obviously this is a movie with a message. And it delivers. But it's not sugar-sweet. The movie is funny, touching, modern and honest. Katherine Newbury, a long time comedy host, has been getting less and less laughs. Molly Patel, her 'diversity hire' has to learn to navigate a male work-place. Katherine fires Molly several times, gets outed in a scandal, but bounces back with honesty and grit. And all's well that ends well, of course. The touchstone for whether this is a good movie is, for me, do I want to see this again. The answer is: YES!

It's so reviving and motivating women to push themselves harder at what they believe in.
