Harboring a violent past with its own dark secrets, Dr. Joachim Ferrer (Gérard Depardieu) has found solace in the church as a Jesuit priest. But when Sarah (Élodie Bouchez), a young Carmelite nun, is rushed to the hospital, Father Joachim soon finds himself caught in a web of terror and intrigue.
