There is a typo: "When it comes time to blow out the candles on his cake, Max makes a wish: that his Dad could go just one day without telling a lie. Suddenly, Max(? This should be FLETCHER) finds himself physically incapable of saying anything that isn't true -- which, given the divorce settlement case he's just been handed, is going to make his next day in court very interesting indeed." This movie is hilarious, and definitely one that defined Jim Carrey as one of the best comedic actors of our time.

This is a funny comedy (which it's supposed to be). But, Unfourtunantly, it takes MORE than just comedy to make it a good comedy film: a good, worthful, understandable, and mature story with a point and good message, and interesting, deep characters with motivations. This movie doesn't have any of these. I did'nt care for any of the characters in this film, even Jim Carrey's character. He's funny almost most of the time, & His performance is over-the-top which is normal, but here, he is too edgy and larger than life, & are stretched out too long, it's tiring & it gets to the point where it's not funny anymore, the same goes to the comedy itself (how the comedy was scripted). It's stretched out long, a bit dumb, & it gets old a tiny bit fast. Sure, he does tell "white lies" which are okay sometimes, & he is carful about what he says. Then, when the wish comes true into truth mode, Fletcher is Mean, immature, distastful, unlikable, and has emotional breakdowns, (No Spoilers, but the ending is solid enough). The story is derivative, it's like taking the narrative from "Charly (1968)" and make it different with thought bubbles and talk bubbles with a twist at the end. Recomended? No
