The concept of the movie is great. It's a good story. He does a lot of stupid things for a guy that's supposedly on 100% brain capacity. The first thing you would study isn't chemistry? He spends weeks making money with "Stocks..." pays the chemist 2 Million dollars... Flips the money like a maniac, makes almost 10 Million... Takes a job from Van Loon to make like 50k afterwards? Buys a loft that small for 8.5 Million because it's got a vault door... Could've bought a 2 Million dollar loft and invested 2 Million in security, doors, secret passages, armed guards... Doesn't pay back the Russian guy for his 100k... That'd be my best buddy. I'd pay him back like twice as much for being such a pal. Instead of hiring guards, him and his men were more into action and would've saved all that hassle since the main issue of the story is that the Russian guy is after him for pills and money. The other thing that's not adding up is how many pills he had. That one pouch with those pills were all he had, he didn't know who made it, and no one gave him any more. Yet, whenever he looks at the pouch it's full... It's full when he hides it in Lindy's apartment, it's full when he makes a secret compartment on his jacket, and it's full when he gets it back in the end. The same stash of pills that never runs out. Even though he took like 60 of them and gave 20 to the Russian guy... In the apartment carnage scene, he calls the police even though he's the only person present in the crime scene, finds the stash and cash... The police arrive and don't even bother to search him or arrest him to interrogate? Vernon says "It works better if you're already smart" Lindy seems like she's twice as smart since she's doing so much better than he is, but when she takes the pill, all she does with that extra brain power is conveniently and obediently give him all the pills after escaping tancoat, takes him home and bangs him. Wow 100% brain power. Lol. Whatever I'm just a nitpicker. It was nice.

We've all wondered exactly what we'd do with the ability to more efficiently use our brain and this movie does us all a favor and takes things to the next level. Bradley Cooper does an excellent job, definitely better than his usual comedic stuff like "The Hangover". Overall, it's become one of my favorites.

Robert DeNiro revamped his role from Meet the Fockers into a boring lifeless role. And the moment that it felt like his ability to be a onscreen threat to the lead, the writer's had him sent away like a scolded dog with it's tail between it's legs. A sad use of his talent. As for the overall movie, it felt less like a thriller and more like some junkie trying to justify his addiction. I got really, really tired of listening to Cooper crying for his fix every two or three minutes of the movie. The only thing I could not predect in this 'thriller' (and i use the term loosely) is how much I would reget the time I lost watching this movie when I could have been watching paint dry and would have been more entertained.
