An alien race, undefeatable by any existing military unit, has launched a relentless attack on Earth, and Major William Cage (Tom Cruise) finds himself dropped into a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage is thrown into a time loop, forced to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again and again. Training alongside warrior Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt), his skills slowly evolve, and each battle moves them one step closer to defeating the enemy in this fun action thriller.

When I decided to watch this movie I hadn't read or heard much about it. It looked like another movie that would be ok to waste an hour or two with and forget about immediately but it turns out that the movie and the plot is so good that it took everybody by surprise. A pleasant durprise indeed.

This is the movie that the staff of MeMate gifts scored 9/10. Surely the film will convince you if you are a gamer, otaku (who likes manga, anime) or an action movie enthusiast. But no, just you love watching movies is enough.

Groundhog Day in a sci fi alien invasion war fought exoskeleton-powered soldiers. And we get to really appreciate the comedic timing of Tom Cruise dying in inventive ways throughout so even the detractors probably can enjoy those bits. :P
