RYAN GOSLING’s directorial debut LOST RIVER weaves elements of fantasy, noir and suspense into a modern day fairytale. however it does cause one to think a little bit more in the realms of fantasy and unless your a sucker for the artistic types of movie where certain elements are not explained it can be quite a challenge to keep focused on everything thats going on. I mean if I have to be the evil critic here can someone please tell me why the director went down the route of BSDM with his sexual doll chamber and a blood and guts in a sadistic manner? The scary abandonment of a place that looks like its had a nuclear fall out with a nutter on a chair attached to a car is more humorous and comical than a thriller. I mean so many ideas that the director intended but it's not my cup of tea!
