About this movie

Incomparable British broadcaster Louis Theroux is hilariously provocative in his first feature documentary, LOUIS THEROUX: MY SCIENTOLOGY MOVIE, created in collaboration with director John Dower and two-time Academy Award winning producer Simon Chinn. Following a long fascination with the religion, and with a lot of experience dealing with eccentric human behaviour, Theroux won't take no for an answer when his request to enter the Church of Scientology's Los Angeles headquarters is turned down. Theroux's insatiable curiosity motivates him to understand what life inside the Church is really like, and with the aid of former second-in-command at the Church, Mark 'Marty' Rathbun, he uses actors to replay incidents people claim they experienced with high profile members such as Tom Cruise and leader David Miscavige. Suffused with a good dose of humour and moments worthy of a Hollywood script, LOUIS THEROUX: MY SCIENTOLOGY MOVIE proves that what people do in the name of religion can be truly stranger than fiction. 2015 BRITISH BROADCASTING CORPORATION/BBC WORLDWIDE LIMITED

Glad i rented it and did not buy it . Told me nothing i could not find on the net and other then finding a road and proving it was a public road--- it still amounted to nothing. It did give you a look into the side of x-members of the cult and that was interesting but this had very little to do with the cult other then when they were poked and prodded into a response. Did not turn out to be what it said it was.

I have every dvd of Louis'. I'm a hardcore fan. This entry however is disjointed and Theroux seems to turn on one ex member due to what I can only assume is a lack of core material in which he was seeking. The premise ended up being overshadowed by the passive attack on the ex scientology junkie rather than the scientology dealer. Resulted in the true objective being lost and perspective too partial. Come on Louis, thought you were better than that. Small insights though were appreciated (officer filming)

A bit of a nothing burger, scientologists are crazy everyone knows it, but nothing was ultimately proven in this documentary. Mildly entertaining but Louis has done much better.
