I'm so tired of this kind of junk. All movie makers need to do these days to get good reviews is make a movie about any minority whatsoever. It's so pathetic. It's like people are afraid of being labeled homophobic or racist if they say anything negative regarding a film about minorities. People need to spine back up and remember sticks and stones instead of getting bent out of shape about words. People have gotten way too soft and they're labeling their weakness sensitivity. But I suppose this means I'm now a homophobe.

If you look below the surface, and if you can empathize with what Simon is going through, you will realize that when it matters most, in the most significant moments of this movie, Nick Robinson nails the role. The nuances of his facial expressions and the shame in his voice at certain points are award winning for those who can relate to what he is saying and doing in the movie. Look past the cute story, and feel what Robinson is portraying, and you just might begin to appreciate this film and what gay adolescents sometimes go through. It's a gem of a movie.

I do not think I have enjoyed a movie as much I have in my entire life. The actors were amazingly selected, Nick Robinson capturing the entirety of Simon's emotions and feelings throughout his experiences. The story flowed very well, transitioning from scene to scene flawlessly. It had me engaged the entire time the movie was playing, remaining loyal to the book without removing too much from the film. For anyone who is feeling alone or sheltered from themselves because they feel they cannot be themselves for being different from the in-group, this movie will be an inspiration for you.. For anyone who is looking to help out anyone they know who is going through this type of experience, watch this. It will do wonders. I don't think I have cried, laughed, cringed or related to a movie so much.
