From acclaimed writer/director Jeff Nichols, тАЬLovingтАЭ celebrates the real-life courage and commitment of an interracial couple, Richard and Mildred Loving (Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga), who married and then spent the next nine years fighting for the right to live as a family in their hometown. Their civil rights case, Loving v. Virginia, went all the way to the Supreme Court, which in 1967 reaffirmed the very foundation of the right to marry тАУ and their love story has become an inspiration to couples ever since. I loved this movie. I watched it on hbo. This movie is worth the time to sit back and watch. Make it a family movie and pizza night language is kind of rough, but not that bad. The movie is based in the 50's thru the 60's era I think. This movie will also make you appreciate how easy we have it today and realize how hard it was to love who you wanted to and be with who you wanted to back then. And just watch how hard Mr and Mrs Loving lives were

I really enjoyed the film. But I will of course recognize the pre-existing positive bias for myself on this as this movie depicts a case that is truly landmark for my life as my wife and I are an interracial couple. The movie is "slow" but its not trying to be an action flick, and it succedes in what it sets out to do. It tells the story and makes the protagonists real to us as an audience.

Great story but the acting was just horrendous. It lacked emotion and energy. The lawyers acted like they were about to do a comedy routine or something. The pace was just very bad. The arguments made to the supreme Court were empty and dry and maybe that's how it was actually played out but man, it was just flat.
