Om denne filmen

From acclaimed writer/director Jeff Nichols, “Loving” celebrates the real-life courage and commitment of an interracial couple, Richard and Mildred Loving (Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga), who married and then spent the next nine years fighting for the right to live as a family in their hometown. Their civil rights case, Loving v. Virginia, went all the way to the Supreme Court, which in 1967 reaffirmed the very foundation of the right to marry – and their love story has become an inspiration to couples ever since. If it wasn't for the historical significance, I wouldn't have watched this movie. There was like NO chemistry between either actors. It was a bit disheartening because you couldn't really see the love that they were fighting for. I think they could've done a lot with this movie, but it ended up being subpar. I've seen interracial couples in other movies that seem to click a whole lot better.

I expected the movie to deal with the court proceedings instead of their personal lives, so I was surprised. And gladly so. But is it bad to say I expected them to deal with more adversity? Think I'm so used to Hollywood's extremely violent and depressing depiction of African Americans in history that this seemed like super mild. These guys struggled yes. They had to fight hard for their love. But they won. And this ended up being a love story.

Great story but the acting was just horrendous. It lacked emotion and energy. The lawyers acted like they were about to do a comedy routine or something. The pace was just very bad. The arguments made to the supreme Court were empty and dry and maybe that's how it was actually played out but man, it was just flat.
