From acclaimed writer/director Jeff Nichols, Loving celebrates the real-life courage and commitment of an inter-racial couple, Richard and Mildred Loving (Golden Globe Nominee Joel Edgerton and Academy Award Nominee Ruth Negga), who married and then spent the next nine years fighting for the right to live as a family in their hometown. Their civil rights case, Loving V. A fine performance by the principal players, especially Edgerton who renders his character with a quiet and determined intensity whilst Negga provides the illuminating and emotional strength. A must see film that speaks volumes of human endeavour underpinned by love that is neither contrived nor vociferous. Highly recommended.
