Thomas Hayden Church nearly steals the film as her eccentric friend and foil. His humor and sincerity are a stark contrast to Ellie's cynicism as their chemistry carries the film to a finale is both understated, realistic and powerful. Some films get lost in the shuffle of distribution only to find life on cable and Netflix. Lucky Them is one of those hidden gems that will only gain steam as it becomes available to a wider audience.
