Unfortunately the film tries to do too much with the limited time it has avaliable, and ends up (in my opinion) focusing too much on being a work of art rather than telling a story the conventional way. At the beginning, yes, i can see her as prey being chased and cornered by the hunters, you don't have to draw such an obvious parallel. It just feeles forced to me

If this came out in 1989 it would have been epic. Since then mri and other brain scanning has gotten phenomenally better. If the storey was about the drug and it made her unlock the universe without leaning on "the brain uses less than 10% and if you used more you would be god like", this would have been a five star review. Really well acted mostly. Could have been better. Good ending.

There's a confounding shot in one of this film's many superfluous shootouts involving a statue that's almost completely out of harm's way - check it, it's safely recessed into the wall - getting needlessly blown to bits. Which about just sums up the movie as a whole: it's just stupid, despite its pretensions to being 'cool'.
