About this movie

This classic American war comedy received an Oscar® nomination for Best Picture and spawned one of the most popular shows ever to run on television. It focuses on three army surgeons (Donald Sutherland, Elliott Gould and Tom Skerritt) who develop a lunatic lifestyle in order to handle the everyday horrors they encounter in the Korean War. Sally Kellerman, Gary Burghoff and Robert Duvall co-star in this disarming mix of slapstick, merciless fun and tragedy.

A good enough movie, and I can certainly see why it continues to have following. But personally I prefer the TV series MASH. The humor in this by comparison is generally cruel and mean spirited. At times characters seem to pull pranks for the purpose of cruelty and nothing else. But it is still a classic that inspired a show that my father and I still watch to this day.

I personally liked the show much better than the movie they made because the actors were different and they behaved differently. Hawkeye seemed to be pulling pranks that were just plain mean not really funny at all.

Both me and my father fought in this war my father was 47 I was 18 I was actually a part of the MASH the show is based off of so MASH 8055th though it was MASH 4077th in the show but I did see my father a couple times but it was because he was wounded and he did die in that war. But in the end I had to stay until the end so I was 21 when the war ended and I went home with everyone else! My father would've been 50. Email me about this and what I saw at tytyd1292@gmail.com
