Surya is a tourist guide in Mahabalipuram. He is not averse to stealing small things from tourists. When the times become really hard, Surya and his friend Satyan decide to commit a big time robbery. The house they select happens to be that of film actress Jyothika. She catches them red handed and her scheming manager makes her complain that Surya has misbehaved with her. Surya gets jailed. An enraged Surya kidnaps Jyothika to teach her a lesson. While being the hostage, she develops a liking for him. But the scheming manager stage manages another kidnap of Jyothika to extract a ransom! The rest of the storyline deals with how Surya saves Jyothika from the kidnappers.
