From director George Miller, originator of the post-apocalyptic genre and mastermind behind the legendary “Mad Max” franchise, comes “Mad Max: Fury Road,” a return to the world of the Road Warrior, Max Rockatansky. Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max (Tom Hardy) believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa (Charlize Theron). They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.

Anyone who says this movie doesn't tell a story didn't look hard enough. Yes, it is two hours of a constant car chase, but that doesn't mean there isn't a plot! The story is told exclusively through action and it is absolutely phenomenal. It doesn't bother to spoon feed everything to the audience, therefore avoiding any long, tedious exposition scenes. Honestly, most other action movies feel mediocre in comparison! As an automotive enthusiast, I was drooling practically the entire time over those awesome machines! Wild ride from start to finish.

Immediately became a favorite after first viewing with its artistic yet satisfying cinematography. One should note that the film is not meant to be touching, but it is a rather realistic interpretation of an apocalypse. Violence isn't too bad or consistent and only enhances the film's voice, most of it being car violence at least until the final chase scene, containing violence that is gory but hard to catch with the quick, limited-frame style of action in the film. I truly believe this film to be one of the greatest works of all time, and I am happy to see it finally gaining the popularity it deserves.

Easily one of the best action movies ever made. It may have taken George Miller over two decades to get this made, but what has been done is both riveting and gorgeous. Most of what is seen is practically shot, meaning that in some actual unforgiving terrain they had some maniac with an 80 lb flame-throwing guitar played on top of what looked to be a dump truck covered in drummers while really exploding other outlandish badland vehicles. Brilliant throughout.
