Whoopi Goldberg ,Ted Danson and Will Smith star in this offbeat look at modern family values. An independent black woman conceived a child with the help of a sperm bank 18 years ago. When her now 18-year-old daughter Zora discovers the truth about her conception, she tracks down her anonymous father, and the whole family is stunned when she finds a buffoonish - and worse, white -- car dealer (Danson). He may not be the dad of her dreams, but Zora's unstoppable desire to know her father--whoever or whatever he may be--is going to turn this mismatched group into a family Made in America.
