Maleficent explores the untold story of Disney's most iconic villain from the classic Sleeping Beauty and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turn her pure heart to stone. Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king's newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Aurora is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever.

I wasn't expecting much from Maleficent but in the end I found it quite entertaining. It does a great job of turning a traditional story in an interesting new direction, and generally focusing on its characters more than its special effects, even if some characters are a little one dimensional (probably intentionally).

I saw this at the cinema and thought it was a good film with an interesting angle on the typical fairytale. There is a 'but' - I think the film could have push more into the darker side of the character but as it is Disney I suppose it has to stop short of full on darkness. It would appeal to a larger age range too. Still I would recommend it.

Maleficient beautiful scenario but I still don't understand why the fairy look like evil with her corn. Angela looks astonish she's a great and talented actress.
