Marvel Studios unleashes the next global phenomenon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron. Coming from a fan of the cinematic universe, Age of Ultron is up there with the other great Marvel movies of all time. Granted, well the elements were changed to some of the characters (Ultron is supposed to be made by the original Ant Man, not Iron Man and Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are supposed to be mutants), these were not bad changes to the characters that I can live with. The things that I love most about this movie include the fact that Hawkeye gets a lot more screen time and his character is developed more than how he was in the first film and the fact that Whedon fixes Iron Man 3's mess by making James Rhodes become War Machine again. The Hulkbuster Iron Man vs Hulk fight is definitely one of the best fights in a marvel film. But the greatest element in the movie is James Spader's performance as Ultron. His performance is definitely second to Loki. It's a shame Josh Whedon will not be returning for the last two parts. Way to go Whedon, if you wanted to go out with a bang, you did an excellent job. I salute you.

The first Avengers movie did not have you establish the villain and explain his motives, because Thor already did that. Here they tried to establish the villain and give him a story all in one go, and it didn't quite work out. He makes the decision to go bad so quickly that the audience never gets a chance to understand why he made that decision, nor why it was tragic. Nor did the audience get any real sense that he was betraying his creator, or at least never got the chance to feel that betrayal.

Boring CGI villain. No one seems to be having fun in the movie (come on Joss Whedon you did such an amazing job with the first Avengers). Characters don't really progress or have any depth they're just there blowing stuff up. I've LOVED all the Marvel movies up to this point. Ant Man was better than this.
