Om denne film

The magic returns in Disney's reimagined classic as Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt) helps the Banks family remember the joy of what it's like to be a child. Together with her friend Jack the lamplighter (Lin-Manuel Miranda), fun is brought back to the streets of London in celebration that everything is possible…even the impossible!

Should not have been made. Not a single memorable song in this travesty. They're all horrible in every way from beginning to end. Terrible lyrics for terrible tunes. Emily Blunt is no Julie Andrews, and whoever the hell that is who dares to fill Dick Van Dyke's shoes is an affront. Walt Disney is spinning in his freezer, and PL Travers's ghost is going to haunt the memory rapists who green-lit this garbage.

I should start by saying that I've never seen the original (I'm sorry). That being said, I really enjoyed this movie; yes some of the acting was a bit cheesy, but I chalk that up to it being a homage to Disney classics. The visuals were solid, the songs were solid, and Emily Blunt was great as the titular character. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys films like these. Not quite a masterpiece, but definitely memorable and enjoyable for all ages.

A theme by theme remake of the Disney classic. Very dark and sad most of the time. The visuals are very good and the songs are very good, but overall it felt like it was a cash grab... Disney has lost a lot of their 1960s Disney charm with this one. Good - Emily Blunt (great casting choice and impeccably Julie Andrews-esque) and the 2d animated character scenes Bad - Nothing felt original and can be compared to like by like beats in the original film. Best song in the movie, "The Place Where Lost Things Go" is also very sad to the point of being a negative. Meryl Streep... I love to laugh not turn the world upside down.
