Based on the book Matilda, by British children's author Roald Dahl, this film moves the setting from the U.K. to the U.S.; otherwise it follows the original closely. Matilda Wormwood (Mara Wilson) is an extremely curious and intelligent little girl who is very different from her low-brow, mainstream parents (Danny DeVito and real-life wife Rhea Perlman), who quite cruelly ignore her. As she grows older, she begins to discover that she has telekinetic powers. Not until a teacher shows her kindness for the first time does she realize that she can use those powers to do something about her sufferings and help her friends as well. Villains from the awful Miss Trunchbull (Pam Ferris), headmistress of her miserable school Crunchem Hall, to her parents and older brother begin to feel her ire. Look for Paul Reubens (aka Pee Wee Herman) in a small part as an FBI agent investigating Matilda's shady father.

La pelicula esta muy buena yo la habia visto en el tele es muy buena pero porque diablos tiene que ser comprada estoy harta deberian ponerla gratis como los juegos muchas personas tienen Wi-Fi como yo y yo bajo juegos y musica gratis y todo lo demas pero tienen que usar la cabeza hay gente pobre que no tiene Wi-Fi y que tienen que descargar con saldo pero por favor como se les ocurre poner una pelicula comprada y en dolares para eso uno va a algun lugar y compra una pelicula pirata por favor ustedes pierden

This movie is really awesome and emotional.... I like matilda .. her behaviour . Her parents are not at all like her.. she wants to read books , but instead her parents will force her to watch t.v. she even took revenge for her father... And her teacher miss Honey is really an amazing teacher..... But at the last her parents did something for her...... I felt so bad for matilda that she have got a parents who are very rude .. and never thought that she was their daughter....

This movie tells us that we can raise our voices for something that is worth living for. Children should be treated in a GOOD Way because when they grow up, they will be kind,generous, humble and more good qualities. Every person deserves a loving family. I can RELATE myself as Matilda because my life is like hers. I feel her Point of View. Its me Ashley Nicole Cayabyab.
