When Laurie Carter is accused of shooting her married lover Frank Sinclair, all the evidence points to her guilt, including an incriminating mobile phone text message. However, as McBride's assistant Phil Newberry shows the Luddite lawyer how mobile phones can be manipulated, other suspects begin to emerge, along with blackmail, greed and a buried scandal.
