Mea Maxima Culpa investigates the secret crimes of Father Lawrence Murphy, a charismatic Milwaukee priest who abused more than 200 deaf children in a school under his control. The film documents the first known public protest against clerical sex abuse in the U.S., which led to a case that spanned three decades and ultimately resulted in a lawsuit against the pontiff himself. The investigation helped uncover documents from the secret Vatican archives that show the Pope, who must operate within the rules of the Roman Curia, as both responsible and helpless in the face of evil.

A documentary that finally gives four Deaf men the chance to have their voices heard after they endured years of sexual abuse by the "Catholic Priest" Lawrence Murphy as children. The documentry also unveils how corrupt the Catholic Church's are all the way up to the Vatican and the Pope himself by shuffling around priests instead of holding them accountable for these horrendous crimes against children. I'm proud of my father Arthur Budzinski and his friends for their courage to share their painful stories.

If Jesus Christ watched this and still defended a celibacy doctrine then he should be condemned to hell.
