Once you get past the opening half hour where the stakes are set (Alba - zzzzz), the film gets out of first gear and is a solid series of assassination sequences. The prison and pool scenes are great fun and could be levels straight out of Hitman (puts the actual adaptations to shame). Fight scenes are satisfying and bloody. The heavy use of green screen is noticeable. Some massive plot holes (helicopter pad teleportation?) but overall good Friday night fodder.

Typical Statham fodder in that he beats the crap out of everyone with not much of a scratch. The first mechanic had a credibility of sorts but this one feels like he was going through the motions. It's watchable but no great shakes. Also, has he been ill lately, looks a little thin in the face here!?

You know what to expect, Jason Statham shooting and fighting. That's fine. But Jessica Alba and Tommy Lee Jones are here to wave goodbye to their acting careers. The plot, script and acting or hopeless. But again, you knew that anyway. An hour and a half of Statham is what you are here for, and he's good at what he does.
