This is blown open when Saul (Peter Sarsgaard) follows her home from their high school reunion. Their surprise encounter will profoundly impact both of them as they open the door to the past.

It was okay, but just okay. There were a lot of unhealthy relationship behaviors being projected as "romantic". It's fine to have ourselves reflected back at us in movies, but projecting the problem behaviors as romantic is irresponsible. That's just not great messaging, imo.
