About this movie

MEMPHIS takes place in the smoky halls and underground clubs of the segregated 1950s, where a young white DJ named Huey Calhoun fell in love with everything he shouldnメt: rock メnメ roll and an electrifying black singer. MEMPHIS is an original story about the cultural revolution that erupted when his vision met her voice, and the music changed forever. Bursting off the stage with explosive dancing, irresistible songs and a thrilling tale of fame and forbidden love, this incredible journey is filled with laughter, soaring emotion and roof-raising rock メnメ roll. Also starring Derrick Baskin, J. Bernard Calloway, James Monroe Iglehart, Michael McGrath and Cass Morgan.

Poor recording. I'm not really sure what else to say. The cast recording is excellent, the Blu-ray version is amazing, and this digital version is awful. The audio sounds like it is coming from inside a well. I purchased this when it first came out and noticed the problem right away. I spoke to customer service who gave me my money back. I waited about a year and read the reviews which didn't mention any audio issues so I bought it again. Same problem. Shame on me. No other issues from any other purchases. I recommend you go elsewhere to see this.

If you enjoy the current movement of Broadway, this is one musical that you won't want to miss. Captivating from the first note to the very end, you will want this story to live in your soul. An incredible cast takes you through issues of racism, black power, and freedom witnessed through music. Enjoy, as I know I have.
