In Alex Garland's (Ex Machina) MEN, Harper (Jessie Buckley) retreats alone to the beautiful English countryside, hoping to have found a place to heal from a personal tragedy. Soon after she settles in, dark forces from the surrounding woods appear to be stalking her, forcing her to face the demons of her past.

Ratings and reviews

A nothing story punctuated with an attempt at a shock value ending. Seems like when this movie was pitched the entire premise was one actor plays all the men in town yet the lead of the story doesn't seem to notice any resemblance whatsoever. Why doesn't she? Obviously because it's an allegory. Apparently directors think if they call their movie an allegory to something grander, they don't have to tell a coherent story. Watched it with two women who said it was the worst movie they ever saw.
