Straight up on how it was in the 90’s growing skating in So Cal, and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way, we we’re definitely misfits and outcasts but that was okay, I had my family just not their support and I had my friends and their support-oh well it worked out okay. I remember the time when skating was less popular and less acceptable, not anything like it is today, I don’t remember any skate specific shoes being over $100 that’s for sure or at least any pair I ever had still to this day-crazy good times, Sex Skateboarding & Rap/Punk(I listened to both)!!!

i live 2 blocks away from the majority of the filming locations here in East Los Angeles basically near target and hot dog stand along Whittier blvd. the movie itself its funny its a typical coming of age story about a few skaters its super funny from start to end. lt has the 90s vibes from the baggy clothes to the slang most films miss out on that aspect this one does the trick.

I quite liked this movie. It covers a lot of abuse and pretty well. However there is a scene with Alexa Demi and Sunny Suljic that was really graphic and honestly triggering if you've been SA'd before. I wonder if that was scarring for that little boy at all. It really bothered me and I question the morality of a 30 year old kissing an 11 year old. Other than that it was a sad but nice coming of age about an abused little boy growing up in southern California. Give it a try but be advised.
