Um þessa kvikmynd

A father (Michael Shannon) goes on the run to protect his young son, Alton (Jaeden Lieberher), and uncover the truth behind the boy’s special powers. What starts as a race from religious extremists and local law enforcement quickly escalates to a nationwide manhunt involving the highest levels of the Federal Government. Ultimately his father risks everything to protect Alton and help fulfill a destiny that could change the world forever, in this genre–defying film as supernatural as it is intimately human.

Very good but as a character centric narative I yearned for more character development. Dont get me wrong, the individual vulnerabilities were well explored. Slow to start so the action crowd will not enjoy as I did, but the build up is well paced and the ending superb.Bulk of it is not focused on futurism but the journey of a few individuals and what they are prepared to protect. After all, good sci fi is about the human condition when faced with something it does not yet understand. Ending v well done

So boring. One of those quiet movies where the actors mumble all the way through. Has no story behind the plot. Terrible. I don't know why other people have rated it so well or compared it to ET. Wtf?

Pays obvious homage to 80's 90's pop culture films, firestarter and ET spring to mind but in such a unique and unpredictable way. Great cast, excellent direction, stunning sound scapes. Perfect amount of mystery and drama and great pacing. I really appreciate the lead actor. I like everything I've ever seen him in, The Runaways, Boardwalk Empire, Take Shelter and this film. He's dark and his features are dramatic. I just find him mesmerising. I can see why this film maker has made him a muse it seems.
