Dave is happy for his friends Alex and Monique who are doing well in life but Dave's envious wife Terry conveniently uses the couple to highlight their own mediocre existence. When Alex meets an untimely death, Terry sees this as an opportunity for Dave to thrive in his profession while Dave and the widowed Monique mourn the tragedy.
