About this movie

Filled with exhilarating nonstop hockey action and heart-racing suspense, MIRACLE is the inspiring true story behind one of the greatest moments in sports history — the 1980 United States ice hockey team's triumphant Olympic victory against the Soviet Union. Kurt Russell gives a brilliant performance as the dynamic and determined coach Herb Brooks, who had an impossible dream -- beat the seemingly unbeatable Soviets at their own game. Starting with a handpicked group of 26 undisciplined kids, Brooks coached them to play like they never played before, and turned 20 of them into a team that believed they could achieve the unachievable -- and in the process, united a nation with a new feeling of hope.

This may be the greatest piece of filmmaking art of the early twenty-first century. It inspires emotions in all of its viewers, be it the young or the elderly, that well up from the heart like a gurgling Brook from a fresh mountain spring. I cannot recommend any film more than the one that sits before you. Before I watched Miracle I was lost, floating adrift in the uncertainty that is the sea of life. This film inspired me to chase my passions and "Dream On." Soon, dear reader, you too will be "Dreaming On." In the immortal words of Coach Herb Brooks: "it's comin' down out there."

I still remember this moment in sports history and this movie practically makes you relive the whole thing. It brings tears to my eyes just watching it. An absolute favorite.

Timeless classic. The best part of this film is that it not only captures the heart of the team, but also the heart of the time period -the daily struggles during the Cold War.
