With his elite organization shut down by the CIA, agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his team (Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames) race against time to stop the rise of a new global threat, The Syndicate, a dangerous network of rogue operatives turned traitors. To stop them, Ethan must join forces with an elusive, disavowed agent (Rebecca Ferguson) who may or may not be on his side as he faces his most impossible mission yet.

With the exception of MI:II, which was rubbish, I find the MI movies get better with each iteration. There may be some quibbles as to which is the better of the movies but the point to take home is that, other than the aforementioned 2nd one they are all great action movies. Thoroughly recommended.

This movie has all the elements that I love in a great film. In the Mission Impossible franchise this is one of the best ones. Such an enjoyable watch the whole way through.

Five movies in, and Cruise is still completing increasingly impossible missions. Unfortunately, the villain, playing a somewhat similar role to Bardem's in Skyfall, is supported by little amount of menace.
