An old school father and his plugged-in, filmmaker daughter struggle to relate as their family embarks on a road trip to her new college. Their drive is interrupted by a machine apocalypse that threatens to tear these unlikely heroes apart unless they can find a way to join forces and save humanity.

I saw this for the first time about 2 months ago and it was the best think I've seen all year. Animation is a little different an weird, but after a few minutes I felt like it really works, and of course ties into the rest of the movie beautifully. I have netflix, but I had to own this for myself. Everyone that worked on this did an amazing job.

Incredible! In what is Lord and Miller's best film since The Lego Batman Movie, The Mitchells Vs. The Machines shows beauty in it's style of animation. It shows it in how a family can come to together in a situation in fun ways and it shows it in it's depiction of the modern world. There is cute and clever humor in it too as well as really good animated action that only Lord and Miller can bring. The best animated film of the two I saw so far of 21, the other being the lovely Luca.

A movie with a lot of references to old school YouTube, nostalgia, and sprinkled with tons of heart. It brings its own unique style to the table and isn't afraid of being its own thing. I highly recommend this film over any recent Disney release
