From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes Moana, an epic adventure about a spirited teen who sets sail on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfill her ancestors’ unfinished quest. During her journey, Moana (Auli‘i Cravalho) meets the once mighty demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson), and together they cross the ocean on a fun-filled, action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and impossible odds. Along the way, Moana discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity.

Well done Disney for making another brilliant film. This film is for all ages, it was breath taking, I felt really connected to the characters but Moana especially, the film had it all, laughter, courage, love and sadness, its deffinately one of the best films I have ever watched, it made me laugh, cry and made me realise that my friends and family are the most important things in life, its deffinately worth purchasing and watching, you wont be dissapointed.

It yanked a few tears out of me, but really? That was pretty slapdash filmmaking. There were no real stakes, no real character arcs, the songs were meh (dude, the Phil Collins songs in Tarzan were WAAAAY better than this). I liked learning about Polynesian culture but didn't feel that emotionally invested in any of the characters. Disney have done BEYOND better than this in the past (except for Frozen - the heck was that?!) As a female myself, I appreciate strong female leads, especially ones of color but still... eh. It had potential but bright colors with little substance doesn't do it for me. I did like the Kakamora coconut pirates, reminiscent of Ewoks and possibly the most interesting characters in this movie yet given very little screen-time. Also, points off for encouraging blatant speciesism. Another "relieved I missed it on the big screen and saved a bunch of moolah". Thanks Play Store for the 99p rental. One to not buy or watch ever again.

One of my all time favourite modern Disney films. Other than maybe one song that I didn't like, the rest were fantastic. Some had such a deep meaning and others were full of bounce and pazazz. Storyline was great, it made me want to go and betray my father and glide out to sea on a small boat past the reefs. Probably wouldn't find Maui or a giant crab with treasure though. Great film.
