This behind-the-scenes look at ABC's "Monday Night Football," which premiered in 1970, shows the impact that the seasonal primetime series has had on the game, the American public and popular culture. This dramatization also reveals the real personalities of the original broadcast team--crusty, controversial, opinionated Howard Cosell; former Dallas Cowboys quarterback "Dandy" Don Meredith; and former New York Giants halfback Frank Gifford, who remained with the show the longest (through the 1997 season)--and the men's true feelings for one another.
