SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE meets TRAINSPOTTING. Shocking, Magical and Emotional. A high-impact, artistic adaptation of Norman Wilwayco's triple Palanca-winning short story, novel, and screenplay --with songs. MONDOMANILA takes place in the slums and is inhabited by the denizens of the underworld. The crippled pimp, the lonely housewife, the neighborhood gay and his macho father, the prostitutes, the smalltime politician, the Yankee pedophile. In MONDOMANILA there are no happy endings and death awaits in ambush at every corner. Tragedy lies not at the end but is a given situation. Khavn De La Cruz

MONDO CANE (1962), MONDO NEW YORK and MONDOMANILA are three films that investigate the more transgressive elements of their subject matters and milieus. All are told through a multitude of colorful personalities under the most extreme of circumstances. Black in humor frank, cynical and oddly jovial MONDOMANILA will leave a permanent stain on the brain in the manner of GUMMO or ERASERHEAD. A sister to the MONDO films but a unique one-r that feels, smells and tastes like nothing you've every seen. Time to check out one side of Manila that most tourists may never get (or ever want) to see....

if you want to see a film that was made with an outside the box vision this film is it...I think calling it transgressive doesn't even do it justice!!!
