About this movie

Six years ago NASA discovered the possibility of alien life within our solar system. A probe was launched to collect samples, but crashed upon re-entry over Central America. Soon after, new life forms began to appear and grow. In an effort to stem the destruction that resulted, half of Mexico was quarantined as an INFECTED ZONE.
Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain the massive creatures... A jaded US journalist (McNairy) begrudgingly agrees to find his boss' daughter, a shaken American tourist (Able) and escort her through the infected zone to the safety of the US border. This is not thrilling in the least. I thought this may be a monster romp, but how wrong I was. It had hardly any monsters, and most of it was just pretty locations. Shame really, it had good premise.

A much slower and more character driven film than I expected, but even so, a remarkable achievement by director Gareth Evans given the meagre budget. Shame the story is so weak, though.

Those that hated this, clearly watched on a superficial level and have low capacities for existential thinking and philosophy. This film had astonishing depth and draws a kind of individual to it. Thus, it won't be for everyone, so the trolls should stick to Segal and Stallone.
