For those that gripe that it needs to be for rent, I have a news flash....IT'S AN EARLY DIGITAL RELEASE....If you want to rent it then wait for it to be released on its scheduled date. Early digital releases will never be avaliable for rent, that would defeat the whole purpose of having a early digital release to help sales...geesh.

This prequel to Monster's Inc. builds nicely on what you already knew about monsters. Be forewarned, however, that there will be one sequence of events that will be an emotional roller coaster. One of the characters (don't worry I won't use his actual name), but let's call him Ike Spakowski, has a serious moment of glory only to have it ripped away. I really enjoyed "Monsters, Inc.". Heck, I enjoyed Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Wall-E, Ratatouille, and Up. Even though they were children's movies, they were enjoyable by adults. Monsters University (MU) doesn't take any chances and feels like a kid's movie. It's predictable, the gags are basically slapstick, and like Cars, seems to be written to maximize the theme park and merchandise tie-ins. It used to be that Pixar's mediocre fare was still better than everyone else's best efforts. This is no longer the case. I
