Para için yenilmeye alışık olan karma dövüş sanatları dövüşçüsü Cole Young, soyunun kimlere dayandığından veya Dış Dünya İmparatoru Shang Tsung’un başka bir dünyadaki Cryomancer olan en iyi savaşçısı Sub-Zero’yu kendisini avlaması için neden gönderdiğinden bihaberdir. Ailesinin güvenliğinden endişe eden Cole, bir Özel Kuvvet Binbaşısı olan ve Cole’un doğuştan sahip olduğu aynı ejderha işaretini taşıyan Jax’ın emriyle Sonya Blade’i aramaya gider. Ardından bir Yüce Tanrı ve Dünya Krallığı’nın koruyucusu olan ve işareti taşıyanlara sığınak sağlayan Lord Raiden’ın tapınağına yolu düşer. Cole burada, deneyimli savaşçılar Liu Kang, Kung Lao ve başına buyruk paralı asker Kano ile eğitimini sürdürürken yaklaşan büyük savaşta Dış Dünya’daki düşmanlara karşı Dünya’nın en iyi şampiyonlarına katılmaya hazırlanır. Positives - Great action and fight scenes - Brutal and gory like a Mortal Kombat movie should be Negatives - Having been a fan of Mortal Kombat since I was a kid, I felt like the writers did not know which direction to go - They kept bring up the tournament, but there was no tournament. - Goro looked great, but had no real part except to die. - Like every other movie that has a "Chosen One" they use a birth mark The original movie from the 90s was far better. Merge the two would be 5 🌟!!!

I despise when studios make a franchise movie to milk the built-in fan base, but they're ashamed of the characters, so they make their own characters, usually for "representation" reasons. Since this franchise had tons of Asians already, I'm not sure why WB hated them. But clearly, they did. So you get Joe Asian-American. With a dumbass super power. I watched this on HBO Max and still wanted my money back.

Being a fan of the 95' original I had high expectations. The movie starts with the origin of my two favorite characters from the franchise only to barely see them throughout the movie. If they focus the story entirely on Scorpion and Sub-Zero instead of this new character, the movie would have been amazing. This movie was entertaining to watch once but to purchase for $25 it's a no for me. Hopefully if they make a sequel they will fix the problems.
