I knew the main actors (Pally, Bloom and Kartheiser) from various TV shows and had enjoyed watching them, which was the initial draw for me. The movie kept it light, fun and intriguing. Pally's lead character managed to generate some heartfelt moments despite his buffoonery, and the slapstick moments were well done. Plot- and character-wise it's pretty familiar territory (sometimes a little too familiar), but the movie kept my attention throughout. It felt well-aware of genre tropes in a good way and didn't take itself too seriously. The movie also looks way better than I expected; the lighting in some scenes was eye-catchingly good. Overall, a 6/10 for me. Not a must-watch, but I had a good time and certainly don't regret renting it.
