About this movie

Consider MR. BROOKS. A successful businessman, a generous philanthropist, a loving father and devoted husband. Seemingly, he's perfect. But Mr. Brooks has a secret -- he is an insatiable serial killer, so lethally clever that no one has ever suspected him -- until now. Academy Award winner Kevin Costner stars as Earl Brooks, a man who has managed to keep his two incompatible worlds from intersecting by controlling his cunning, wicked alter ego Marshall (Academy Award winner William Hurt) whom he blames for his wrongdoings. But now, as Mr. Brooks succumbs to one last murderous urge, an amateur photographer (Dane Cook) witnesses the crime. Suddenly Brooks finds himself entangled in the dark agenda of an opportunistic bystander, as well as hunted by the unorthodox and tenacious detective Tracy Atwood (Demi Moore). Can Mr. Brooks outsmart his adversaries and conceal his shocking double life from his wife (Marg Helgenberger) and daughter (Danielle Panabaker) or will someone expose...

Did not like it, stupid and poorly put together, poorly written. The ending was terrible also. I guess if you like stupid and weird it will do. Kevin Costner was boring. Too much was unclear, such as who was his buddy Earl. What happened with the "almost got him" from Demi Moore. Again, left out as half the movie was. You may say it's all in your imagination but more clarity was needed.

This movie is great fun. It was written excellently and was cased almost perfectly. Costner is awesome, Hurt is wickedly entertaining and Moore plays a more than believable on-screen detective. I would have paid full price at the theater if I know how much fun this movie would be. Anyone who says differently is obviously dull or thinks that all movies should be based on real life. This movie is fun, entertaining and is another overlooked thriller that should be revisited

Not only is Costner a great double personality serial killer, you have Dane Cook and the Goddess Demi Moore is the hell on wheels detective after him. William Hurt pulls off a hell of a 2nd personality to Costner.. Watch the movie. It's worth it.
