While a fictionalized biography of a famous artist may be of interest to some viewers, it does not necessary follow that the depiction will be done in a way to generate any further interest. If someone were to make a movie about an a handful of uneventful days of my own life, it would have the same impact on the viewer as this movie. Turner's life, other than his artistic talent, I found to be unbearably dull. It would be far more interesting to have made a movie about Lady Mary Somerville, for I found the scenes with Lady Somerville to be the only part of the move I could stand.

This was one of the best acted films of 2014 and though dry,was still very interesting! I'm an academy member( and recieve screeners) so there are a lot of films I don't purchase here and thus don't leave a review AND I'LL TELL YOU RIGHT NOW I BUY EVERYTHING ,so if there's no review you can assume its high quality cinema. So when I was peruseing the crap that passes for film and saw Mr Turner I was curious to read your reviews ,as I was for the BRILLIANT 'interstellar' ; but unlike that I found Zero........

THE TRAILER IS A LIE!!!!!! TOTAL GARBAGE! If they had used something like the lively music in the trailer, it would have helped greatly. But most of the film has NO SOUNDTRACK AT ALL. And is filled with HORRIBLY BORING long stretches of nothing of importance whatsoever and the disgusting grunts and noises of the main character that sounds like they were copied in from a recording of pig noises instead of a human. Sets me back on body positivity. DULL, BORING, WORST FILM EVER.
