Based on the true story that made history, a convict is put on trial for murdering a fellow inmate and the young, inexperienced lawyer assigned to him bases his defense on the assertion that inhumane treatment at Alcatraz was responsible for the murder. The acting is superb. One of my all time favorites. Kevin Bacon kills it in this movie. The "spoon" scene is brutal.

This movie is an excellent blend of action, drama, and even a little humor on Kevin Bacons part. It is one of his bests with the help of some other exquisite acting performances

He truly defined himself as an A list actor,one of my favorite movies of this generation.
