Conceived and filmed in September 2019, Muse's Simulation Theory follows a team of scientists as they investigate the source of a paranormal anomaly appearing around the world - releasing a deadly virus. Blurring the lines between narrative and concert film, virtual and reality, Muse's most theatrical tour to date launches us through a supernatural spectacle, questioning the world around us.

Brilliant film. Visually stunning, musically beyond par. Absolutely blew my mind and it will blow yours too. A must watch for any Muse fan. (The following is @defector_dave's spoiler-free review) "I think I loved it. It exceeded my expectations, that's certain. I went in expecting something like the Drones movie : a decent filmed concert with some effects added in post (and in this case a narrative), but surely not something as memorable and fresh as Rome was when we first saw it in 2013. But I was proven wrong! The narrative parts of this movie made it way more interesting than Drones, and made it something more than a filmed concert, something closer to an action movie where instead of fight scenes, we see Muse being badass on stage. I wouldn't be surprised if Matt, the band and Lance Drake had the narrative for the film in mind since 2018 (maybe even 2017) when they were making the music videos, because what I loved the most about this film is how it elevates the Simulation Theory era as a whole and gives it an extremely satisfying closure, the opposite of the Drones movie that kinda came out of nowhere over 2 years after the tour had ended. The ST film manages to intertwine elements of the album, the music videos and the live shows and connect them all, meaning that from now on, when we'll think "Simulation Theory", we won't think of an album, we'll think of a global artistic experiment that was connected through different media, a kind of extended universe that lasted a couple years, and that's GREAT. Makes me love ST more than before. I think some people will wish it was just a simple concert film, and I get it, but I'm very happy with what we got, it's bold, over the top and ridiculous = very Musey. Now, a couple quick things : - The film looks amazing, the concert is beautifully directed, closer to Rome than Drones imo. - About the tracklist : it won't please everyone. I genuinely can't wrap my head around a couple of choices that were made (particularly one that already baffled me back when the tour started), but I'm very pleased with some other ones."

Still not available for me either but I've seen it at the cinema and this movie doesn't deserve such bad reviews just because there is an issue with the release in some countries. I'm sure we'll get it very soon and it isn't fair. It's amazing as usual and I can't wait to watch it again !

Sorry I wrote it in French. Le film est intéressant et jongle plutôt bien entre film et concert, l'intrigue est assez simpliste mais reste agréable, les visuels sont magnifiques et le son vraiment très bon, seul problème, certains morceaux ont été retiré de la setlist et certains raccourci mais a apart ça le film dépasse de très loin mes attentes. Pour tout fans de Muse le film est a voir.
