I've heard so many bad things about this movie, but it was the best movie ever. I cried 4 times. My brother has severe autism and is non-verbal and I could relate to the characters so well who were taking care of music. I have high functioning autism and saw myself in the character Music. if you notice the parts of the movie that are show depicting the movie as controversial are mostly the dancing and music scenes, in my opinion I think it is because in dance movements are dramatized. I was really hoping that the end of the movie had the assistive tablet say I am happy and when it happened I was full on crying. My family put my brother in a assistive care facility when he was 9 and it was so hard. The staff at most of those homes do not pay enough attention to the kids and are typically low staffed. The saddest part for me in this movie was when the guy who got the dog for music was hurt. It was so unexpected. I thought he was going to be the hero and save the mom from the abuse from the dad because he had take boxing lessons. Now that I think about it though the character was not outgoing and just wanted to be an artist and it makes sense he wouldn't want to use violence. I feel like this movie could be the start of something big in normalizing autism. Yes, they could have cast an autistic person to play Music, but at least it is a good start to shining a light into the nero-divergent world. It's ok is you don't agree with me because everyone has different opinions and I would love to hear your opinion on the movie... Overall I enjoyed the movie and will watch it again and show my mom the movie and get her opinion on it. Thanks, Viewer

Very insulting, stereotypical, and ignorant of actual autistic people. Sia put Maddie in an uncomfortable and unfortunate situation that shouldn't have been. Sia is the creepiest woman ever for literally preying on Maddy since Maddy was like, 8 and casts her in roles she is not happy with. This is another example of celebrities trying to make money off of being 'relatable' or get sympathy from viewers and it's horrible.

If you're thinking about watching it just to see if it's really that bad, don't. It is that bad and these people do not deserve your money. Donate your $6.99 to organizations that don't advocate for the genocide of autistic people like autism speaks, the organization Sia consulted in the making of this shite movie. This movie is disgustingly anti-autistic and everyone involved should be ashamed. Music is dangerous, it promotes stigma, and it can put autistic people at risk of physical harm.
