At a demonstration outside a prison, Lucy (Ellen Page) and Mercy (Kate Mara) stand on opposing sides: Lucy is protesting the death penalty while Mercy wants to see justice served. They could be bitter enemies, yet they make an undeniable connection-one that grows into physical passion. When Lucy reveals that her father (Elias Koteas) waits on death row, Lucy and Mercy must overcome their intense differences-or be consumed by them.

The ass above who made the negative comment about nasty lesbians, don't watch the movie then idiot... I'm gay so basically your a bigot and are homophobic and probably a closet case.

This was a really amazing film. I went in not knowing anything about it, but I was really surprised with bow good the movie was, and how well they handled the subject mater. I would highly recommend this film.

Kate Mara & Ellen Page were awesome in this heart breaking story. I loved it.
